So I'm psyched in some ways... I'm finally being treated! 25mg of MTX/wk and 60mg of prednisone per day. Wohoo! I've been on the treatment for a month.
Just to give you some background, I was a difficult, and still tentative, diagnosis, but the symptoms all added up to Wegeners. Here's me in a nutshell: 1) Severe, documented sinusitis (but biopsy not specific to Wegener's) 2) Severely short of breath, but very little evidence of lung disease on HRCT (no biopsy done) 3) Positive (but low titer) cANCA 4) Very positive PR3 everytime I take it. 5) Keratoconjuctivitis 5) GI symptoms (does this happen to you all?)
Here's the thing: I'm definitely feeling better on treatment, but I'm not feeling anywhere close to normal. Judging from everything I've read on the forum, that's to be expected. But if I do have Wegener's, then it's a fairly mild case. I was expecting (possibly wishful thinking) that I would at least have the shortness of breath go away. Do many of you experience shortness of breath on a daily basis despite being in what is considered to be "remission"?
