Well, just had my first flare since dx in july 07. Have not been feeling well for a while ( i am wondering if the stress of a 6 hr coding exam was a factor). Anyway, was getting fevers, chills, exhaustion, short of breath. Went to dr and also had tachycardia....sent to ER was admitted due to wegener's flare and anemia. Anemia was determined due to the cytoxin after they ruled out other bleeding. Should have been getting procrit , but docs seemed to drag their feet there....got 2 units of blood instead. 5 days in hosp with lots of solumedrol, home now with high doses of pred. Dr may want to increase the CTX. The irony is that i was to get off the CTX in july and go on Imuran. I have never been off the CTx since dx .
So now i am pretty bummed. Had retrained for a sedentary job(the medical coding), so i am putting that job hunt on hold for a while and hope the dr agrees.
